Critter Storytelling Competition

Say hello to Sam, Wilbur and Doris (she also goes by Ophelia, dont ask!)

These funny little critters have gone out to Tasmanian schools to make storytelling a blast and give schools a chance to win a 2-part storytelling workshop.

Heres how it works:

Cut out Sam, Wilbur and Doris and stick them together
Use them and their props (or add your own if you like!) to tell a story in 3 photos or less
Post the photos, in one post, to Facebook or Instagram using #MyStateFilmFest (or email them to if that’s easier for you)
Your school goes into the draw to win a 2-part storytelling workshop! Hooray!

Heres what you could win:

Every short film starts with a story, and we’d love to help you engage your class in the art of storytelling with a 2-part storytelling workshop for teachers and students.

Part 1: Teacher Workshop - Teaching Storytelling

Teachers will hear from a panel of Tasmanian film experts with all the tips and tricks for teaching their students storytelling techniques, plus some suggested projects and tasks to complete in class.

Part 2: Student Workshop - Storytelling and Refining Ideas

Students will be encouraged to bring all the ideas they’ve been working on with you since Part 1 of the workshop to be reviewed by another panel of Tasmanian film experts. These experts will offer feedback and help your students refine their ideas with different storytelling tactics and structures.

Sound like something your kids will love?

Entries are open right now and close on Friday 11 June 2021. We can’t wait to see what you come up with!
