Lucien Simon


Lucien Simon is an Award Winning Filmmaker and community artist with an impressive portfolio of projects. Lucien is Director/Co-Writer & Co-Producer of the feature-length film Breeding in Captivity (currently in Post-Production) and has directed six short films with screenings at notable festivals including, Palm Springs, Chicago Reeling, Newfest (New York), Saint Kilda, BOFA and Flickerfest. Stripped Bare (Director/Co-Writer) won the Open National award at the 2010 Canberra Short Film Festival. As a screenwriter Lucien currently has three feature films in development with investment from Screen Tasmania and the NTFO.

In 2015 Lucien founded Transistor Youth Arts - a filmmaking program for young people and marginalized communities. 600 young people participated in programs creating 65 short films, 3 web-series and producing 5 short plays. These films screened at multiple festivals and won 6 awards at the 2018 MyState Student Film Festival.
